The area is situated at the mouth of the magnificent Sognefjorden and is a paradise for sea-fishing, diving and leisure enthusiasts, convenienty away from busy cities and tourist-traps. This area is famous for its thousands of islands and its proximity to the open sea. The Gulf-stream makes for a mild climate, even in winter. The Gulen Fiskarbondemuseum has an interesting exhibition on life in this region in former days, and subjects used by local fishermen and farmers.
Take 10 minutes westwards with a boat, and you are out on the North Sea, where the real big fishes of all kinds are waiting for you.
Two new houses are under construction and will be completed till May 2003. |
